About Jessica Warren at Round Rock Counseling Services

My name is Jessica L. Warren and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor serving the community of Round Rock, Texas and its surrounding areas. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and biology from Southwestern University in 2006. I then attended Texas State University where I earned my Master of Arts in Health Psychology in 2008. Since 2008, I have been practicing counseling and psychometrics with a private practice in Austin, Texas.

First and foremost, I take a very client-centered approach to therapy. I value your life story, your experiences, and your perspective. I feel that an environment of openness and non-judgment is essential to forming a therapeutic relationship that is a foundation for growth and healing. From a theoretical viewpoint, I have a strong foundation in Object-Relations therapy, meaning, how we relate to other people in our lives. However, in order to tailor a process that meets your individual needs, I draw in therapeutic techniques and principles from other theories, such as psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and Gestalt therapy. I understand that there is not one approach that will work for all of my clients and I attempt to be flexible and resourceful in using an approach that suits your personality.

I have a variety of experiences and passions that have shaped both my professional interests, as well as my approach to counseling. My background has afforded me an opportunity to work with many different individuals, as well as become very familiar with numerous psychiatric presentations and how they affect people. I currently work primarily with adults and my areas of specialty include loss & grief, chronic pain management, marriage & anxiety and depression.

On a personal note, I met my husband in 2005 and we have been married since 2007. My husband and I currently reside in Round Rock, Texas. We became foster parents in 2010 and adopted our son in June of 2012. My spare time is spent playing with our son, working with the youth ministry at our church, reading, and volunteering with a collegiate group at Southwestern University.
